Her work often explores themes of identity, systemic dysfunction, and the absurdity of modern existence, while spanning a wide artistic breadth — from video installations on Catalina Island to harrowing, intimate dramas and offbeat, in-your-face rock and roll music videos. During her graduate studies at USC’s Film & TV Production program, she received the Runner-Up Faculty Award for Excellence in Editing, the Samuel and Lorenza Gary Memorial Scholarship, and multiple external post-production grants for USC thesis films. With a background in film editing, VFX compositing, and motion graphics, Cecily brings a strong visual sensibility and technical fluency to her directing work. Her storytelling is character-driven, grounded in unexpected worlds, and aims to entertain, unsettle, and occasionally implode reality.
